HAYS, Kan. -- Carol A. Kompus, 71, died Monday (Sept. 5, 2016), at Hays.
She was born June 18, 1945, in McCook, Neb., to Douglas and Wilma (Kleidosty) Bobinmyer, Sr. She grew up in Herndon, Kan., graduated from Herndon High School and attended Fort Hays State University. She lived in Herndon, Rexford, Oberlin and Hays.
She was a retired emergency room nurse.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilma and Douglas Bobinmyer Sr., and grandson, Nicholas Hosaka.
Survivors included her husband, Dick Kompus, of Rexford; children, Laura (J. L.) Fox of Valley Center, Kan., Chris (Ken) Hosaka of Apharetta, Ga., and Stephani Hawkins (partner, Gregg Monhollon) of Munjor, Kan.; brother, Douglas Bobinmyer Jr. of Herndon; sisters, Pat (Phil) Timm of Idalia, Colo., and Joyce (Jim) Rich of Arden, N.C.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services are Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, 1 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Gordon Pettibone officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Herndon.
Memorials may be given in her name to the Intrepid Fallen Hero's Fund or Hospice Services, Inc.
