McCOOK, Neb. -- Judy E. Boucher of McCook passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2016, at the Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman, Neb. She was 68 years old.

Born Aug. 12, 1948, to parents Joseph and Joyce (Ginther) Barber, Judy grew up among six siblings in Plainville, Kan.

On March 20, 1965, Judy married the love of her life, Eugene Boucher, in Zurich, Kan. The couple was blessed with two children, Scott and Kris, and made their home in Hays.

Judy was an insurance clerk/ receptionist most recently at High Plains Podiatry and also regularly attended the Congregational Church in McCook.

Family was a very important part of Judy's life. She cherished the memories they made throughout the years and loved commemorating them in her scrapbooks. She was a business partner with Scrapbook Station in McCook from 2005 to 2010. She also enjoyed quilting, square dancing and bowling in her spare time.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Randy Barber; her sister, Nancy Barber; and her son-in-law, James Earnest.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Boucher of McCook; son, Scott (Chrystal) Boucher of Cambridge, Neb.; daughter, Kris (Jim Beebe) Earnest of Benkelman, Neb.; two brothers, Robert Barber of Spencer, Iowa and John (Misty) Barber of Dana, Ind.; two sisters, Mary (Steve) Goltl of Fort Worth, Texas, and Bonnie Woofter of Huntington, Wyo.; as well as her eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Friday, Sept. 9, 2016, 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in McCook with Pastor Steve Bales officiating. Inurnment is at the Plainville Cemetery, Plainville, Kan., and will take place at a later date.
