Recycling project

Hitchcock County 4-H'er Achelle Brenning of Culbertson wheels in the game cabinet she created by recycling an unused office storage cube from her mother's office. Achelle put magnets in the bottoms of the chess and checker pieces so they won't slide or get lost, and she brushed chalkboard paint on two sides of the box on which to play "Hangman" and "Tic-Tac-Toe." There's storage space inside for board games and puzzles, she said. Achelle competed Thursday afternoon in the "Recycling" project in consumer and family science and accessories for the home, during the Hitchcock County Fair in Culbertson.
