Retirement

Monday, June 27, 2016

Members of the City of McCook Fire Department gathered recently to celebrate Robert (Bob) Allen's retirement from the department. Allen spent 24 years with the City of McCook Fire Department, with the last 20 being full-time. He served the community of McCook and surrounding area exceptionally well, said McCook Fire Department Chief, Marc Harpham. He served as the EMS coordinator and as a lieutenant with the FD for several years. He also taught literally hundreds of EMS related classes throughout the state and was an EMS Instructor for many years. Shown from left are Michael Schoenemann, Shane Smith, Allen, Steve Renner, Dan Hartwell, Rick Metcalf and Harpham. " He's been a great co-worker and an even greater friend," Harpham said. "I'll miss our daily visits and sharing coffee with Bob in the morning. Although we'll miss Bob, he's not going far."
