Connie Jo Discoe/McCook Gazette

Donkeys owned by John O'Dea and his sons are death on musk thistles in their pasture south of the old Republican Valley school between Indianola and McCook. John's wife, Michelle, said they have problems with musk thistles growing in the river bottom pasture, but they hate to spray for them because of cattle grazing on the grass. "The donkeys eat the musk thistle," she said. The two jennys, a mother and her daughter, move with the cattle from paddock to paddock. "They don't want to get left behind," Michelle chuckled.
