Virginia Lou "Peggy" Ellis Brown

TRENTON, Neb. -- Virginia Lou "Peggy" Ellis Brown, age 88, of Trenton, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at El Dorado Manor in Trenton.

Peggy was born on March 23, 1928, in Culbertson to parents, Richard Clark and Doris (Adkins) Ellis. She graduated from Culbertson High School with the class of 1945. Following graduation, Peggy worked in the Hitchcock County Court House in the Assistance Office from 1945 to 1950.

On Aug. 10, 1949, she was united in marriage to William R. Brown in Culbertson. William and Peggy lived on the family farm their entire married life of 64 years. Peggy was a housewife and farm wife, but most of all, a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Richard and Doris Ellis; her husband, William Brown; son, David Brown; and two brothers, James and Dick Ellis.

Survivors include her three sons, John Brown and wife, Deb, of Montrose, Colo., Mark Brown and wife, Jill, of Trenton and Rick Brown and wife, Carol, of Hayes Center; six grandchildren, Heather Hole and husband, Scott, Jerrid Aimone, Clive and Cale Brown, Erin Brown, Brett Brown and wife, Kelsy; four great-grandchildren, Loryn Hole, Kylie Hole, Kaden Brown and Allie Brown; one brother, Leland "Bill" Ellis and wife, Marilyn, of Mera, Ark; two sisters-in-law, Edith Burd of Arvada, Colo. and Coleen Ellis of Alliance; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Trenton First United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be Monday, May 30, 2016, at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in Trenton from 5 to 7 p.m.

Graveside services will be at the Culbertson Cemetery on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, 10 a.m. with Pastor Alisa Parde officiating.

Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel of Trenton is in charge of the arrangements.
