McCOOK, Neb. -- State Sen. Colby Coash will stop in McCook Tuesday on a statewide tour to explain why he, and a bi-partisan supermajority of his colleagues in the Unicameral, voted to end the death penalty and why he wants Nebraskans like you to vote to retain their work this November.

The local event will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Sehnert's Bakery & Bieroc Cafe, 312 Norris Ave., in McCook.

  • Reasons to not support a death penality..1)vengeance. Reasons to oppose the death penality 1)life with chance of parole protects society, 2)cheaper than the death penality as court costs for multiple appeals are gone, costs for finding a drug are gone, costs for a drug (if one can be found) are gone, cost s for administrating the penality are gone, 3) moral stances for against the penality are realized, 4) The USA gets off the world wide list of supporting the death penality 5) the guilty person suffers prison for life as human suffering ends with death. The family of the person killed gets an immediate end to the court cases.

  • Reasons to support a death penalty....

    1)justice.

2)Death protects society and those innocents

3)cheaper if multiple frivolous appeals are limited and cheaper forms of execution (ie firing squad) are legalized

4),Moral standards about justice for the victim are realized

    5) The USA leads the world in setting an ultimate penalty for those who willfully and knowing ends another life.

    6) as long as the convicted killer is alive there is no end to the families suffering as the court cases will go on forever.
