Gerald 'Jerry' Dellere

SELDEN, Kan. -- Gerald "Jerry" Dellere, 81, died Wednesday (May 4, 2016), at Selden, Kan.

He was born Feb. 28, 1935, in New Almelo, Kan., to Paul P. and Mathilde (Spartz) Dellere. He grew up on a farm southwest of New Almelo. He attended New Almelo grade school and Lenora High School.

He married Delores Wessel on Nov. 27, 1956, in Seguin, Kan. He farmed northwest of Selden in Decatur County and also did tax preparation for the Lund Law Firm in Oberlin, Kan.

He was a member of Selden Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Family Frolics Square Dance.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mathilde (Spartz) Dellere; brothers, Paul and Arnold; sister, Elaine Townsend; and grandson, Christopher Harris.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Dellere of Selden; children, Wayne (Dena) Dellere of Selden, Tina (Cliff) Harris of Colby, Carol (Dude) Morgan of Colby, Regina (Derwin) Langley of Wichita and Lolita (Joe) Metcalf of Oberlin; brothers, Alvin "Dale" Dellere of Colby and Jim (Sue) Dellere of Salina; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services are Saturday, May 7, 2016, 11:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Selden with the Rev. Dana Clark officiating.

Visitation is today until 4 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin and from 5-8 p.m at Pauls Funeral Home in Selden with a vigil service at 7 p.m.

Memorials may be given in his name.
