MHS senior chosen for DAR award
McCOOK, Neb. -- Ahria Golden from McCook High School has been awarded the national DAR Good Citizen award from the Sioux Lookout Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Students chosen must demonstrate qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism.
Golden is the daughter of Tami Golden and Robert Golden. She has been awarded numerous academic honors, including All-State Choir, Cornhusker Girls State, United States National Honor Student, Sound of America Honor Band and Chorus, and maintained Top Ten of Class for all four years of high school. She has completed several advanced placement and honors classes, receiving the distinction of Outstanding Student in English, biology, music and choir. She received superior ratings in District Music-Small Group, Large Group, and Solo; and she is currently choir president. Ahria has donated her time to children's activities, sending gifts to soldiers and she participated in Earth Day Recycling.
