David A. Cobb

CAMBRDGE, Neb. -- David A. Cobb, 68, of Cambridge, died Saturday (Jan. 23, 2016), in Papillion, Nebraska.

He was born Aug. 20, 1947, in Hollister, California, to Robert and Patsy Ayer and was later adopted by Bill Cobb.

He grew up in many places as his father was in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Virginia. After high school, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970. After his service, he married Deborah Wilson at the United Methodist Church in Wilsonville, Nebraska. They lived in Denver, Colorado, for a short time before moving to Cambridge. He worked for Tri-Valley Health System in Cambridge for 19 years in data entry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Randy Cobb; and sister-in-law, Donella Harney.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah of Cambridge; children, Heather and husband, Clinton Forsythe of Bernville, Pennsylvania, Jason and wife, Lynsey Cobb of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Travis Cobb of Papillion; brother, Chris and wife, Ruth Cobb of Atascadero, California; sisters, Sondra and husband, Niall Rogers of Florida, Janet and husband, Preston Cole of Washington and Jeanette Ayer of Denver; and 11 grandchildren.

There is no viewing or visitation as cremation was chosen.

Graveside services are Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016, 1 p.m. at the Wilsonville Cemetery in Wilsonville, Nebraska with the Rev. Jake Brower of Omaha, Nebraska, officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion and Nebraska National Guard Honor Guard.

Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe, Nebraska, is in charge of the arrangements.
