McCOOK, Neb. -- Denille Lynn Burke of McCook passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at her son's home in Cambridge, Nebraska, surrounded by her family. She was 45 years old.

Denille was born on Feb. 19, 1970, at Englewood, Colorado, to parents, Dennis Lynn and Julianne Faye (Pape) Garrett. She graduated from McCook High School in 1988 and continued her education at McCook Community College.

On Sept. 15, 1990, she was united in marriage to Richard Burke at McCook. To this union a son, Garrett, was born.

Denille was employed as a dispatcher for the McCook Police Department and jailer for the Red Willow County Sheriff's Department for many years until her health prevented her from working.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Denille enjoyed playing league softball, bowling, and home decorating. She had a passion for musicals and theater in general and cheering on her favorite football teams the Denver Broncos and Nebraska Cornhuskers. Her family were her pride and joy and she cherished the time spent with them.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Dennis and Julianne Garrett; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Survivors include her son, Garrett (Ashley) Burke of Cambridge; brother, Aaron (Michael) Garrett of Redding, California; sister, Elizabeth Garrett of Norfolk, Nebraska; and one granddaughter, Bristall Burke of Cambridge; and a host of relatives and friends.

Memorials may be given in her name.

Rosary will be recited Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, 6:30 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel with Father Gary Brethour officiating.

Memorial services will be Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, 2 p.m. at Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel with Mike Roth officiating. A private family inurnment will be at a later time.
