McCOOK, Neb. -- A McCook woman sentenced to probation last year on a felony bad check charge was back in Red Willow County District Court recently facing probation violations.

The offender, 22-year-old Hollie M. Quitt of 1112 Missouri Avenue, was ordered to serve an additional six months probation and sentenced to 60 days in jail during a hearing last week in District Court. Quitt was given credit at sentencing for 62 days in jail already served, according to court documents.

Quitt's probation violations stem from her absconding the area without permission and providing invalid contact information to her probation officer.

She was originally sentenced in September of 2014 to serve 30 months probation and pay $1,907 in restitution following her conviction on a Class 3 felony offense for bad check writing. Quitt issued the near $2,000 in bad checks to a half-dozen McCook businesses during a 60 day time period between December 2011 and February 2012.

Other activity in Red Willow County District Court, Dec. 9, 2015:

* A Class IV felony offense alleging possession of methamphetamine filed against an Elwood woman was dismissed pending the woman's enrollment in drug court. The woman, 37-year-old Michelle Williams, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance following a May 22, 2015, arrest in McCook.

Court documents indicate Williams pleaded not guilty to the charge in August, prior to last week's dismissal.

* A McCook woman facing two felony criminal cases pleaded not guilty to all charges. The woman, 42-year-old Jodi M. Traill of 910 East E Street Apt. A, was subsequently scheduled for a status hearing in both cases at 1 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2016.

Traill is facing a Class IV felony alleging theft by unlawful taking, property valued between $500 and $1,500. In a second case she is facing a Class IV felony alleging possession of methamphetamine, in addition to an infraction alleging possession of drug paraphernalia and a Class I misdemeanor alleging she violated a protection order.
