A new twist on an old favorite

The McCook High School drama class will present "Oz," Monday, Nov. 30, 7 p.m. at the high school auditorium. The one-act play by Don Zolidis, under the direction of drama teacher, Amanda Davidson, follows Beth, reeling from her sister's death, finding perseverance and finally acceptance as she journeys through a world suspiciously resembling the film classic, "The Wizard of Oz." Admission to the play is a free-will donation. Characters in the play include, from left, Corinne Bortner as Quax and Mary Kain as Quix, the guides of Oz, Alli Johnson as the Munchkin mayor and Lindi Johnson as Glenda. Back, Halie Lindquist is the Wicked Witch and Stephen Hoffman as the Lion. Other cast members include Victoria Norgaard as Beth, Tim Brinamen as the Tinman, Allison Tolliver as the Guide/Jill, Brandon Molcyk as the Scarecrow, and Alex Graff as the Wizard. The crew includes Brigham Larington along with Brenna Simmonds, Cameron Waddell, Hope Malleck and Hauke Rauch.
