Athlete headed 'down under,' fund raiser

INDIANOLA, Neb. -- A sophomore at Southwest High School in Bartley will represent Nebraska and the United States as a member of the Central Conference Team competing in track and field in the "Down Under International Games" in Australia in July 2016.

Derek Greenlee was invited to compete with the team following his performances during the 2015 track and field season. He is the son of Tammie and Rick Greenlee of rural Bartley.

Supporters plan free-will donation breakfast and lunch fundraisers on Saturday in the United Methodist Church Hall, 404 N. Fifth in Indianola.

A breakfast of pancakes, sausage, eggs and drinks will be served from 5:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.

Lunch will include sloppy joes, chips, desserts and drink, served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
