BEAVER CITY, Neb. -- --Lawrence A. Sheneman, 88, died Wednesday (Nov. 4, 2015) at Phelps Memorial Health Center in Holdrege, Nebraska.

He was born Jan. 25, 1927, in Oxford, Nebraska, to Early and Phoebe Sheneman. He attended school near Oxford. He joined the U.S. Navy Seabees and served in Okinawa, Japan, from March 1945 through July 1946. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Nebraska and married Darlene Cozad on June 12, 1947. They moved to Loveland, Colorado, where he worked in construction and carpentry. They moved to Beaver City in 1972.

Lawrence was a member of the Friendship Center Church in Beaver City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darlene; daughter, Darla Bragaw; and brothers, Elwyn, Ralph, Neale, Hap, and Marvin.

Survivors include his son, Dale Sheneman and wife, Sue of Oxford; sister, Betty and husband, Howard Smith of Anchorage, Alaska; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services are Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, 3 p.m. at the Friendship Center Church in Beaver City with the Rev. Jamie Hargett officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Maple Creek (Precept) Cemetery, Beaver City.
