Monday morning, Dalton Koetter, left, and Tyler Hayes and other representatives of McCook Community College's welding class volunteer their time to help during the first donation day of the annual McCook, Nebraska, Coat Closet and Winter Clothing Giveaway. Coat Closet coordinator Barb Ostrum said the giveaway is in need this year of infants', children's (especially boys) and teen coats, hooded sweat shirts, snow boots and clothing. Winter coats, hats and mittens, warm clothing of all sizes and blankets can be donated today until 6 p.m., and Wednesday, throughout the morning, inside the north roll-up door of the McCook City Auditorium at West Fifth and C. Shoppers can come through the east doors of the auditorium Wednesday, from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m.; Thursday, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.; and Friday, from 8 a.m. until noon. Do not bring bags and boxes. The Coat Closet project is made possible by the City of McCook, Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska and the Southwest Nebraska community.
