McCOOK, Neb. -- My Starving Lion (MSL), the not yet famous, but fantastically talented, McCook based pop trio is out to make waves with their new album, 'The Underground LP.'

The new album is power-packed with raw emotion, incredible diversity, inspirational and relatable lyrics, and melodies that play on the listener's hopes, fears, doubts, and joys. It's about the real struggles and pleasures humans experience every day, and it shies away from nothing.

"The album has songs about the emotional, mental, and physical barriers we experience in life -- personal insecurity, frustration, burnout, suicide, self-loathing, rejections -- and it soothes and comforts through a focused emphasis on the positives of life -- young love, hopes and dreams, focus, purpose and more, " said Adam Spanier, the mastermind, creator, vocalist, writer, engineer, and ring leader of the group.

"The album is about being exhausted, desperate and near defeat, but finding the drive to keep going, knowing that triumph is in the future. Success is within our grasp, and it's never been more worth the fight,'" said Elise Kerchal, the keyboardist, classically-trained pianist, vocalist and all around tenacious firecracker.

While the album is poignant, full of pain and despair, it is also loaded with exhilaration, passion and determination. "This album was designed to create the perfect storm of sounds and lyrics meant to make a huge emotional impact on the listener," Spanier said.."It's consumable by everyone. It's fun, super high quality, very distinctive music that can be played to the young and old alike."

'The Underground LP' was written by My Starving Lion, recorded, mixed, and partially mastered by Spanier (engineered for The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Fleetwood Mac, Dashboard Confessional, Modest Mouse, and others).

"Adam kinda goes to his own little world when he works. And what comes out is always incredible," said Dylan Power, guitarist, bassist, songwriter and matador between two raging bulls (Adam and Elise...they always agree on everything).

The album was partially mastered by New York City's Grammy award-winning Tom Coyne (Adele, Sam Smith, Macklemore, Taylor Swift, and tons more). "We spent a lot of time mixing and tweaking each and every bar until it sounded just right, but the mastering carried it to a whole new level," says Dylan. "Tom's really good; he did an amazing job."
