Thursday, August 13, 2015

McCOOK, Neb. -- McCook Economic Development Corp. announced today that it has successfully completed an audit of its financial statements and procedures by accounting firm McDermott and Miller, P.C. of Kearney Nebraska. Upon completion of the inspection of MEDC books and accounting procedures, McDermott and Miller concluded that the records " ... present fairly in all material respects, the financial position of the McCook Economic Development Corp. ... in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America".

"For nearly ten years now, MEDC has gone to the added expense of having a complete financial audit completed, so that our partners and donors will have the greatest confidence that funds are being handled carefully" says MEDC Board President Jim Ulrich, "we feel this is particularly important as we play the important role of directing investment of sales tax funds under the City of McCook Economic Development Plan to activities that help build the local economy". MEDC is a 501 (c)(4) not-for-profit corporation founded over 20 years ago.
