CAMBRIDGE, Neb. -- The Lord came for Patsie Lee (Owens) Wood, 78, on Aug. 4, 2015. She passed with her loving husband at her side at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge, Nebraska.

Patsie Lee "Pat" was born in Stockville, Nebraska, on Nov. 11, 1936, to Richard T. "Dick"and Willamina Marie (Arent) Owens. She lived in Stockville for several years attending school, before moving to Curtis, Nebraska. Pat married Edward Gardner on Sept. 25, 1955. To this union three children were born, Catherine Ann, Richard Dean, and James Edward.

On Feb. 5, 1971, Patsie married Russell Wood at Stockville. They lived in Curtis for a short time and employment took them to 26 different cities in nine years, moving back to Nebraska in 1981, when they lived in Stockville.

Pat (Grammy) loved the outdoors, golfing, gardening, camping, biking, sewing and her grandchildren. She loved cooking,and at family get-togethers like the annual Arent Reunion, you could always count on getting some of her "Cherry Cheesecake." She enjoyed "I Love Lucy," the Stockville Fair and collecting all sorts of frogs. She was a member of the Stockville Women's Club serving the community. In 1987, they moved to a residence in Indianola, Nebraska. Pat liked to help others doing housekeeping for many shut-ins. She was employed by Lords Inc. of Indianola for approximately 15 years as custodian.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard D. "Rick" Gardner; sister, Shirley Owens; brother, Harold Owens; and sister-in-law, Adella Meredith.

She is survived by husband, Russell of Cambridge; daughter, Cathy (Steve) Wichman of Randolph; son, Jim (Marsha) of Farnam; daughter-in-law, Karen Jean Gardner of Wauneta; brother, John C. (Bernita) Owens of Stockville; sisters-in-laws, Mary Owens of Hill City, South Dakota, and Barbara (Tom) Lefdal-Walsh of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; brothers-in-laws, Dewain R. "Woody" (Caroline) Wood of Golden, Colorado and William R. "Bill" Wood of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; eight grandkids, Trevor (Brooke) Nelson, Mandy (Tyler) Carlson, Jason (Becky) Gardner, Brad Hall, Jaron Dempcy and fiancé, Michala Allen, Michael Gardner, Daniel (Tori) Gardner, Renae Kay Gardner and friend, Devin Watkins; and seven great-grandkids, Terrance, Jazlyn, Benji, Sam, Tatum, Peyton Nelson and Jarrett Gardner.

Services will be Friday, Aug. 14, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary, 604 Penn, Cambridge, Nebraska, with Bill Weaver officiating. Inurnment will be 3 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska.
