National Dance Day celebration planned Saturday

McCOOK, Neb. -- Spotlight Studios of McCook plans free dance classes Saturday, in their celebration of "National Dance Day."

A nation-wide day of dance on the last day of July every year encourages American citizens to maintain good health, prevent obesity through dance and honor the benefits that dance brings to everybody. Spotlight Studios will offer free dance classes all day Saturday, every half-hour between 9 a.m and 6:30 p.m., including tumbling, jazz, jazz-funk, ballet, cheer and poms, hip hop and lyrical. The classes are offered to ages two through moms. There's no need to register -- just show up 10 minutes before each class.

Classes will follow this schedule:

9 a.m. -- Tumbling, ages 2-4.

9:30 a.m. - Pre-dance, ages 3-4.

10 a.m. -- Tumbling, ages 5-6.

10:30 a.m.- Jazz, ages 5-6.

11 a.m. -- Pre-dance, ages 5-6.

11:30 a.m. -- Jazz-funk, ages 7-8.

Noon -- Ballet, ages 7-8.

12:30 p.m. -- Cheer and poms, ages 7-8.

1 p.m. -- Jazz, ages 7-8.

1:30 p.m. -- Hip hop, ages 9-11.

2 p.m -- Ballet, ages 9-11.

2:30 p.m. -- Cheer and poms, ages 9-11.

3 p.m. -- Jazz, ages 9-11.

3:30 p.m. -- Lyrical, ages 9-11.

4 p.m. -- Hip hop, ages 12-18.

4:30 p.m. -- Ballet, ages 12-18.

5 p.m. -- Cheer and poms, ages 12-18.

5:30 p.m. -- Jazz, ages 12-18.

6 p.m -- Lyrical, ages 12-18.

6:30 p.m. -- Moms' intro to jazz.
