William 'Bill' E. Casida

McCOOK, Neb. -- William "Bill" E. Casida, 54, of McCook, passed away July 9, 2015.

Bill was born Sept. 4, 1960, in Norton, Kansas, to Edmond A. and Judith (Gallentine) Casida. He graduated from McCook High School in 1979.

Bill entered the United States Air Force on Oct. 15, 1979, in Denver, Colorado, and was honorably discharged on March 28, 1987 at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. During his time of service he was an aircraft armament Ssstems specialist and served several years in Germany.

He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; working on cars; and attending stock car races. Spending time with family was important to him. Bill worked as an aircraft mechanic for America West Airlines in Phoenix, Arizona, prior to moving back to Nebraska. He was employed at the YMCA in McCook.

Surviving him are his father, Edmond A. Casida of McCook; son, Eric (Stasi) Casida of Oahu, Hawaii; son, Scott Casida (fiancée, Carissa Nelson) of Greenwood, Missouri; brother, Ron Casida of Wichita, Kansas; and four grandchildren.

Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother, Judy.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015, at the Evangelical Free Church in McCook with Pastor Bruce Lester officiating.

Inurnment will follow at 3 p.m. at the Clayton Cemetery in Clayton, Kansas.
