McCOOK, Neb. -- As construction on a senior housing development on West Q Street garners much of the attention a nearby residential development has quietly made progress of its own.

North Pointe Properties representatives confirmed Wednesday six residential lots are ready for construction along R Street and workers are expected to begin building a spec home on the property in the near future.

The North Pointe development is located directly north of the Clary Village Senior Housing project on West Q Street. McCook Economic Development Director Rex Nelson praised the progress being made on both housing projects earlier this week and said he didn't believe most people realized, "there are two very much separate projects going on."

The Clary Village project involves construction of eight senior housing duplex units to be managed by MEDC.

The North Pointe subdivision targets 27 residential units to be constructed just across the street. The North Pointe project is intended to progress in three phases over several years, with the first phase consisting of the six residential lots which are now ready to break ground.

The lots are available for purchase individually or packaged together, with developers indicating they are also content to construct and sell spec homes on the property one at a time.

Interested parties should contact Golden Plains Realty of McCook for more information.
