Woman accused of stealing from employer, livestock company
McCOOK, Neb. -- A Culbertson woman is facing a felony theft charge stemming from allegations she stole more than $800,000 from her former employer, Tri-State Livestock Commission Company, over the course of two years.
The woman, 54-year-old Trina L. Hoyt, has been charged with one Class 3 felony offense alleging theft by unlawful taking; money valued at more than $1,500. Court documents indicate she was granted a continuance earlier this month in Red Willow County District Court, prior to being called upon to enter a plea.
The case was subsequently scheduled for a hearing at 1:30 p.m. on May 4, 2015, in Red Willow County District Court.
Hoyt is accused of writing 26 unauthorized checks between January 2012 and December 2013, and depositing the funds into her personal accounts.
The checks combined to equal $814,451.
