BRENTWOOD, Calif. -- Former Hastings, Nebraska, resident, Juliann A. Koerperich, 60, passed away April 14, 2015, after a long and courageous battle with cancer in the loving arms of her husband in Brentwood, California.

Rosary will be Wednesday, April 22, 2015, 6:30 p.m. at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 23, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Hastings with the Rev. Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to Juliann A. Koerperich Memorial Fund. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 21, 2015, 4 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, April 22, 2015, from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church. Juliann was born Feb. 17, 1955, in Hastings to Donald and Louann (Heinz) Kyle. She was the oldest of four daughters. She graduated from Hastings Senior High in 1973. She was in pep club and worked at Villa Grace. After graduating from high school, Juliann worked at Perkins Pavilion and then began working for Garvey Elevators in the traffic department for 15 years. She also worked for Cigna Insurance in California for seven years. Juliann married her husband, Edwin Koerperich, on Aug. 6, 1982, in Hastings.They have one son, Jason. Juliann dearly loved quilting and other crafts, and enjoyed being with her quilting friends and working on quilting projects at her home. She gifted a lot of these crafty items and quilts to the sick and the Brentwood Catholic parish women's altar society. She made over 500 quilts doing what she loved and could talk about each one as though she just made it yesterday. Anyone who received one of these will be wrapped in her love and warmth forever.

Survivors include her husband, Edwin Koerperich of Brentwood; son, Jason Koerperich of Buena Park, California; father, Donald Kyle of Hastings; sisters, LaDonna Goble of Hastings, Shari Wilder of Louisburg, Kansas, and Shelly Kyle of Hastings; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
