Electricity on tap for Kids Academy

Friday, April 17, 2015

McCOOK, Neb. -- It's electric!

We're not talking about the slide, but what's up next for Enterprise Kids Academy!

Children will learn what makes a circuit work and recognize that the transfer of electricity in an electrical circuit requires a closed loop; identify materials that act as thermal conductors or insulators; investigate how electricity is generated and delivered; and discover possible hazards that occur around electricity and how to use it safely during the April Enterprise Kids Academy class.

The class will be at McCook Community College's McMillan Hall, Room 201, on Wednesday, April 29, from 1-2 p.m. for 4- to 8-year-olds and 2:30-4 p.m. for children ages 9 and older.

Jennifer Swerczek, energy education specialist at NPPD, is teaching the class, which costs $5 per student.
