Emergency personnel and law enforcement officers respond to a single-vehicle accident at 2 p.m. Easter Sunday, on Highway 6&34 at the corner of the old Republican Valley High School between Indianola and McCook, Nebraska. Forty-five minutes later, still working to extract the driver, a second accident -- this one involving two cars and a pickup -- happened on the highway west of the first accident, east of the crest of the hill where traffic was stopped because of the first accident. Indianola and McCook fire/rescue departments' ambulances transported two adults and one child from the first accident and one adult from the second accident. Rescuers had to use the Jaws of Life on vehicles at both accident. Assisting on the scene were firefighters from Red Willow Western Rural Fire Department. More information will be released when investigations by the Red Willow County Sheriff's Department and the Nebraska State Patrol are completed.
