ARAPAHOE, Neb.-- Harold F. Stagemeyer, 90, of Beaver City, Nebraska, died Wednesday (March 18, 2015), at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City.

He was born Sept. 16, 1924, in Holbrook, Nebraska, to Fred and Mary (Martin) Stagemeyer.

He grew up at Holbrook and attended St. Matthews Parochial School northeast of Holbrook. He married Ethel M. Hyke on March 25, 1944, at Norton, Kansas. They made their home on the Stagemeyer farm north of Holbrook, where they farmed and ranched. In 1954, they moved to Hendley, Nebraska, and then to Beaver City, Nebraska, in 1972. He also worked for for Sperry-New Holland Manufacturing in Lexington, Nebraska for 10 years. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran Church of Hendley, and later, Trinity Lutheran Church of Arapahoe. He served on the school board at Hendley School District No. 99.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Janet Faye Stagemeyer and Sueann Forbes; son, Larry Harold Stagemeyer, and grandchildren, Bobby and Katrina Trenchard.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Stagemeyer of Beaver City; children, Randy and wife, Mo Stagemeyer of Hendley, Jerry Lee Stagemeyer of Beaver City, Carol and husband, Robert Lee of Norton, Kansas, Waunda June and husband, B.J. Morris of Stamford, Nebraska, Sandi and husband, Gary Martin of Beaver City, Peggy Jo and husband, Jason Nagy of Oxford, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are Monday, March 23, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. James Moshier officiating. Interment will be at St. Matthew's Cemetery in Arapahoe.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Parkinson Foundation or donor's choice.

Viewing and visitation is Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Wenburg Funeral Home in Beaver City, from 1 to 8 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
