The chrome on Kendall Knight's 1999 Harley Davidson Road King Classic catches and ignites Monday afternoon's sunshine, as Kendall prepares to take his "baby" out for a rare mid-winter spin in 70-degree weather in McCook, Nebraska. Kendall said that two years ago he bought what was then a trike from an "old red-headed German lady" from North Platte who put 110,000 miles on it and had embellished nearly all the bike's chrome surfaces with skulls. "She put all those miles on it herself. She hated to see it go," he said, but the road vibration hurt her arms. Kendall removed the trike conversion and has added his own high performance touches. He plans to ride to the 75th annual Sturgis motorcycle rally in August.
