Leading the cattle drive in a pickup with a bale of feed, 85-year-old Dick Koetter Sr. of rural McCook, Nebraska, lures his son Richard's cows to their calving pasture north of McCook Saturday afternoon. Bringing up the rear on an ATV is Richard's wife, Jill. Other cow hands on the trail drive were Brian, David, Ben, Colton, Ashton and Greg Koetter and Dan Mosher. At the cows' destination, Dick walked through the corral, checking on the condition of the cows. At his home further south on the county road are first-calf heifers that Dick can watch from his back yard.
