Humane Society puzzled over missing Yellow Labradors

Friday, December 19, 2014

McCOOK, Neb. -- A number of yellow Labrador retrievers or yellow Lab-mix dogs have come up missing recently, and their disappearance is a concern to officials at the McCook, Nebraska, Humane Society Animal Shelter.

With a call that shelter director Lorie Prestes received Wednesday morning, there are seven dogs missing. Communities affected are Indianola, Danbury, McCook, Trenton and Benkelman.

"These dogs are not showing up as strays here at the shelter, so we are concerned about their welfare," Prestes said. "Please, keep an extra diligent eye on your furry family members, especially those of the yellow Lab persuasion, and if you see anything suspicious, please let the local law enforcement know."

  • I saw one running loose in McCook just a couple of days ago on west j. It was running fast.
