'Coat Closet' prep

McCook, Nebraska, High School students Katie Brawdy, left, and Jewel Aneas fold children's warm winter clothes, volunteering to help prepare the 36th annual "Coat Closet and Winter Clothing Giveaway" at McCook's City Auditorium, West Fifth and C streets. Donations of winter clothing, coats, jackets, coveralls/overalls, hats, mittens and snow boots in good, clean condition, in all sizes, will be accepted today and Tuesday at the big door on the north side of the auditorium, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Coordinator Barb Ostrum said they will also need hangers and grocery sacks. Coats and clothing will be distributed Wednesday from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m.; Thursday, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.; and Friday, from 8 a.m. until noon. The Coat Closet is made possible by the City of McCook, Community Action Partnership of Mid-Nebraska and the Southwest Nebraska community.
