WAUNETA, Neb. -- Tamara Merriam Werner was born March 18, 1963, to Charles Merriam and Kathy Mack in Oakland, California. She attended school in Houston, Texas and graduated from Jersey Village High School with the Class of 1981.

Tamara was united in marriage to Arthur John Werner on Feb. 14,1990, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. The couple lived in several places in Texas and Oklahoma, but settled in Palisade, Nebraska, in 1992. Tammy worked at the Palisade Café for many years and then went on to work at McDonald's in McCook, Nebraska. She enjoyed time spent doing crafts, cooking, spoiling her grandchildren and hanging out with family and friends.

Tamara passed away early Sunday morning, Oct. 5, 2014, at the Sunrise Heights Nursing Home in Wauneta. She was 51 years of age.

Survivors include her husband, Arthur John Werner of Palisade; daughters, Aletha Hagan and husband, Bryan, of Culbertson, Nebraska and Crystal Winkler and husband, Justin, of Loomis, Nebraska; son, Arthur "Ace" Werner and wife, Emily, of Palisade; grandchildren, Dakota Hagan, Colten Hagan, Dalten Hagan, Emma Hagan, Landon Werner, Braxton Werner, Jersi Winkler and Easton Winkler; brothers, Robert Merriam, James Merriam and wife, Eleana, Charles Merriam Jr. and wife, Amanda Rincker and Michael Merriam; and sister, Samantha Braggs.

Memorial services are Tuesday morning, Oct.14, 2014, 11 a.m. (CT) at the United Methodist Church of Palisade with Ray Ridlen and Pastor Bonnie McCord officiating. A private family inurnment will occur at a later date.

No visitation, Tammy's wishes were to be gifted to the State of Nebraska Anatomical Board.

A memorial has been established in Tammy's memory.

Liewer Funeral Home of Wauneta is entrusted with arrangements.
