City's annual sales tax revenue rebounds

McCOOK, Nebraska -- City of McCook one and a half percent local option sales tax receipts ended the 2013-14 fiscal year with a total haul of slightly more than $2.6 million. The amount represents an increase of $15,455 compared to prior year and recovers a portion of the previous year's $25,000 annual decrease.

The collected sales tax receipts also represent an amount more than $236,626 ahead of budget.

The one percent sales tax receipts are described as being split evenly between property tax relief and infrastructure improvements and represented $1,751,084 in 2013-14 revenue.

The additional 1/2 percent sales tax receipts are split evenly between LB840 economic development funds and infrastructure improvements and represented $874,542 of the 2013-14 revenue.
