Humane Society calendar voting ends Wednesday

McCOOK, Neb. -- The deadline to vote for a favorite dog and cat for the cover of the 2015 "Dogs and Cats of McCook" calendar has been moved up due to a new publishing deadline.

Supporters of the McCook Humane Society and the public in general can vote for the cover girls and boys at Schmick's Market or online through 2 p.m., Wednesday. Each vote costs $1. All proceeds from the voting will support the work of the McCook Humane Society and its animal shelter.

Sarah and Chloe Dixon of McCook, coordinators of the "Kat Pack" volunteers, explain that their deadline had to move up a couple days because their printer needs to get the calendar design completed earlier in order to have the calendars back in McCook for the shelter's "Dog Days in the Park" celebration scheduled Saturday, Sept. 20.

The calendars will also be available during McCook's Heritage Days celebration the last weekend of September.

People wanting to vote can go to Schmick's Market in the Westview mall, or vote online at http://www.gogophotocontest.com /TheCatsandDogsofMcCook2015.
