St. Alban's plans social, ALS challenge

McCOOK, Neb. -- The Brotherhood of St. Androw, affiliated with St. Alban's Episcopal Church, plans its annual ice cream social from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church, 108 West F in McCook.

In conjunction with the event, the church plan an ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

Pastor Brad Brauer's mother-in-law, Donna Larson, died Monday, Aug. 18, after suffering from ALS -- Lou Gehrig's disease.

The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is being held in her memory as part of the ice cream social.

Donations for ALS can be made payable to the ALS Association. Mail-in donation forms will be available or call St. Alban's at (308) 345-4844 for a form.

Homemade ice cream and desserts will be offered for a free-will donation. Everyone is welcome to attend.
