McCOOK, Neb. -- The deadline is near to submit photographs of pets for the 2015 Cat Pack "Cats and Dogs of McCook" calendar, a fund-raiser for the McCook, Nebraska, Humane Society and Animal Shelter.

Cat Pack coordinators Sarah and Chloe Dixon of McCook ask that photos be submitted by Monday, Aug. 11.

The Cat Pack hopes to raise $2,000 with calendar sponsorships and sales, and donate it to the Humane Society.

The girls says there is no cost to enter a photo of your cat and/or dog. They promise that photos submitted will not be used for any purpose other than inclusion in or for promotions for this calendar -- or in the custom pack of playing cards project that they also have in progress. Both the calendar and cards projects are fundraisers to benefit the McCook Humane Society.

Please note that photos submitted will not be returned.

The girls need this information with each photograph: A. Pet name (one to two photos will be accepted), B. Breed (if known); C. Owner name, phone or an email address.

Photos can be mailed to: "The Cats & Dogs of McCook Calendar," #2 Parkview Drive, McCook, Nebraska, 69001; or emailed to superswitch@hushmail.com (attach a JPEG or TIFF photo)

The deadline is Monday, Aug. 11, 2014.

The Cat Pack is also in search of calendar project sponsors; each sponsorship will cost $30.

The girls ask that to be a calendar project sponsor, please send in your business name with $30 (and business logos) to: Humane Society Calendar Fundraiser, KRD Federal Credit Union, c/o Jean Hester, CEO, P.O. Box 385, McCook, NE 69001

The project goal is to find at least 12 sponsors (one business featured per month) each of which will pay $30 to be highlighted in the calendar.

"If successful, we can donate $360 from sponsor donations alone to the McCook Humane Society to assist with their shelter expenses," said Sarah Dixon, project co-leader.

The calendars will sell for $5 each during McCook's annual Heritage Days celebration and the arts and crafts festival in Norris Park on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 27 and 28, 2014.

The Cat Pack's goal is to raise $2,000 in donations from calendar sales and sponsor involvement.
