Janell Kay Poindexter Hager

Dec. 7, 1949.- July 31, 2014

McCOOK, Neb. --Janell Kay Poindexter Hager, age 64, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

Janell was born in Augusta, Kansas, to Ted J. and Nellie (Klingler) Poindexter on Dec. 7, 1949. She graduated from McCook Senior High in 1968. She graduated from beauty school in 1988; she then opened a beauty shop in Hayes Center. She also worked for the Senior Center in Hayes Center.

She started working for Walmart in 1995, working for 17 years before her health forced her to retire. While she was at Walmart, she was the manager of the dairy department and later the bakery.

In December 1967, she married Jack Frease in McCook, to this union one son, Jim, was born. She later married Ron Hager in March 1972, to this union two sons, Gary and Ronnie, were born.

She was a member of Egan Park Baptist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed yard work, embroidery and playing cards with friends at work.

Survivors include her sons, Jim and wife, Nikki Frease of McCook, Gary and wife, Robin Hager of Wallace, Nebraska, Ronnie and wife, Laura Hager of Norfolk, Nebraska; and five grandchildren, Justine, Jacqui, Kaden, Kolton and Devon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Nellie Poindexter; and brother, Ted.

Visitation will be today Aug. 4, 2014, until 8 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with Jerry Beckenhauer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
