OGALLALA, Neb. -- Jeffry Robert Hafner, 44, formerly of Herndon, Kansas, died Thursday (July 3, 2014), in Ogallala.

He was born April 21, 1970, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to Robert and Julie (Hutfles) Hafner. He was raised in Lexington, Nebraska. He attend St. Ann's Catholic High School in Lexington. After high school, he moved to Denver, Colorado, and later to Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He worked in construction.

He was preceded in death by a niece, Olivia Grace Hafner; and aunts and uncles, Clem and Alice Hutfles and Harold (Pooch)and Irene Hafner Portschy, George Sattler, Richard Cartier, Tom Cook and Richard Hafner.

Survivors include his parents, Robert and Julie Hafner of Herndon; brothers, Joseph and wife, Shannon Hafner of Scottsbluff, Jason and wife, Raquel Hafner of Lexington, Nebraska; and sisters, Jacalyn and husband, David Foxhoven of Parker, Colorado.

Services are Thursday, July 10, 2014, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Herndon. Interment is at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Herndon.

Visitation is Wednesday, July 9, 2014, 8 a.m., to 4 p.m. at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin, Kansas, and from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Herndon.

Vigil service is Wednesday, 7 p.m at St. Mary's Church in Herndon and Thursday, from 8 a.m. until service time at the church.

Memorials may be given to Ava Marie Catholic School in Parker, Colorado, and St. Agnes Catholic School in Scottsbluff. Condolences may be left at www.paulsfh.com.
