A leg to stand on
Wednesday, June 11, 2014
John Hubert, president of the board of directors of the High Plains Museum in downtown McCook, Nebraska, models the peg leg donated to the museum. The gentleman who donated it discovered it at the Helping Hand thrift store in McCook, and decided the best place for it was at the museum. It has a brass plaque that reads: "Centre D'Appareillage De Tour. Ateler de Prothese." Anyone with information about the peg leg, or a translation of the French, can call the museum at (308) 345-3661 to speak to Hubert during museum hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.
