Rather than divide his time and attention between Hancock Gravel and CTE Construction, Jay Hancock has decided to close his gravel business southwest of McCook, Nebraska. "I'm putting all my efforts into CTE Construction," Jay said, after officially closing the sand pit Friday, May 9. "I've greatly appreciated all the support of my customers since starting Hancock Gravel in 1991," Jay said, explaining that they supplied material for Nebraska and Kansas highway projects; Red Willow, Hitchcock, Furnas, Decatur and Rawlins county roads; area contractors and farmers/ranchers; and residential landscape projects. CTE Construction started in 2007 and has 12 full-time and five part-time employees in offices in McCook and North Platte. CTE does siding, windows, roofs, soffits, gutters, facia, additions and garages, new construction and storm damage repair, and even restores barns. CTE is a Sentinel buildings dealer. Contact Jay at CTE at (308) 345-3242.
