Area nursing students attend CCC job fair

GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska -- About 130 students and 55 health care representatives attended the 24th annual Job Fair for Nurses March 6 at Central Community College-Grand Island.

The event gave CCC nursing students enrolled in its associate degree in nursing and practical nursing programs in Columbus, Grand Island and Kearney an opportunity to meet representatives from hospitals, nursing homes, colleges and other institutions.

The nursing students were able to compare the health care institutions' facilities, clientele and employee benefits and the colleges' four-year nursing degree programs while the representatives were able to meet and recruit potential employees and students.

Nursing students

CCC students who attended the event are listed by hometown along with the program in which they are enrolled. The associate degree in nursing (ADN) program prepares them to take the state exam to become registered nurses and the practical nursing program (PN) prepares them to take the state exam to become licensed practical nurses.
