James 'Jim' Lund

June 1, 1952 - March 1, 2014

TRENTON, Nebraska -- James "Jim" Lund of Trenton, age 61, died at Black Hawk, Colorado, March 1, 2014. He was born in Lincoln on June 1, 1952, to John Elmer and Marian Delores (Morris) Lund. In 1955, the family moved to Denver. Jim attended school and graduated from Adams City High School in 1970.

On March 3, 1973, he married Joanne Jacobson in Denver, she preceded him in death July 19, 2003. Jim worked for the federal government as a material manager and supervisor at GSA warehouse in Denver. Upon retirement in 2001, Jim and Joanne moved to Trenton. On Feb. 19, 2004, Jim married Janice Graves. The couple made their home in Trenton.

Jim had recently been working at WalMart as a supervisor. Jim's hobbies included woodworking, tinkering and traveling throughout the United States.

He enjoyed family times and his grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joanne; brother, William; and infant sisters, June and Cynthia.

He is survived by his wife, Janice of Trenton; children, James Lund II and wife, Tina of Palisade, Melissa Cardenas, Marian and husband, Fred Carpenter, all of Trenton; step-children, Tina and husband, Curtis Lee of Graham Washington, Lisa Kershaw and Daniel Hilker of Cambridge, Teresa Nelson and Craig Bain of Graham, Washington, Lorie and Allen Hobbs of Lafayette, Colorado; 19 grandchildren;10 great-grandchildren; three brothers, John and wife, Betty Lund of Greeley, Colorado, Danny and Janis Lund of Broomfield, Colorado and Tommy Lund of Commerce City, Colorado; three sisters, Anita and Darrel Frakes, Linda and Andy Woods, all of Commerce City, Colorado, Rosemary and Hank Inner of Aurora, Colorado, Barbara Siebe of Beatrice.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 6 at 10 a.m. at the Church of God with Pastor Tim Roberts officiating. Burial was in the Trenton Cemetery.

Memorials may be left in Jim's name at the Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in Trenton. Visitation was Wednesday, March 5.
