MONTGOMERY, Texas -- Dan Brock Grubb of Montgomery, Texas, passed away Jan. 6, 2014.

Dan was born June 25, 1935, to Collins and Evelyn Grubb in Seymore, Indiana. He and his wife were former residents of Southwest Nebraska.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jodi Grubb, of 58 years; son, Mike Grubb and wife, Amber; daughter, Christy Hoffman and husband, Gayland; grandchildren, Chelsea, Cori, and Cameron Hoffman; sister, Diane Dinetz; and numerous other nephews relatives and friends.

Visitation wasThursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Metcalf Funeral Directors. The funeral services were Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, 4308 W. Davis St. Conroe, Texas, 77304.

Dan served in the U.S. Navy 1957-1959. He then graduated with a civil engineering degree from the University of Nebraska. In 1969, Dan earned a Master's in Business Administration from the University of Chicago. He was a registered professional engineer in 13 states.

Dan worked for Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America, which later became Midcon Corp., rising to the position of president in 1985. Later in his career, he served as president of United Gas Pipeline and Southwestern Energy. After retiring from the natural gas industry, Dan started an integrated cattle business called "Grubb Land & Cattle," with farm operations in Nebraska and retail sales operations in Conroe.

Wherever he lived, Dan was always active in his community. Current activities included Men's Club at April Sound, Children Protection Program, Honoring our Veterans Program and the Business Forecast Luncheon (partnership with the University of Arkansas).
