BEEMER, Nebraska -- Lloyd G. Nellor, 82, died Saturday (Feb. 1, 2014), at Pender Community Hospital.

He was born Nov. 13, 1931, at Beemer to Harry and Ida (Raasch) Nellor. He graduated from Beemer High School in 1949. He attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln from 1949-1950. He served in the United States Army from January 1953 until January of 1955. He returned to Beemer and has been farming north of Beemer since 1956. On Nov.23, 1968, he married Janice Hoyt at the Methodist Church in Culbertson, Nebraska.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Beemer American Legion Post No. 159, and was a Farm Bureau member. He served on District No. 19 School Board, holding all the offices, served on the Board of Directors for 28 years of the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District and was a 4-H leader of the Go Getters 4-H Group.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Regan Hart; sisters, Norma and husband, Dale Vierson and Arrel and husband, Carl Heitmann.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Nellor of Beemer; children, Barbara Nellor Hart of Lynch, Nebraska, James Nellor of Beemer and Dale and wife, Dianne Nellor of Arlington, Virginia and two grandchildren.

Funeral services Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beemer. Interment with military honors will be in the Beemer Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home in Beemer and will continue on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the church.
