Alexis Martin, a student at the McCook, Nebraska, Beauty Academy, models fellow student and stylist Keatra Fisher's "sugar skull" make-up creation in a fun-for-all theatrical make-up contest at the beauty school Tuesday morning. Students had to research a make-up character, plan its execution and develop a supplies list. Next week, this week's model becomes the stylist in the second half of the contest. Sugar skulls are a traditional folk art from Southern Mexico used to celebrate Day of the Dead. Keatra explained sugar skulls honor the lives of deceased loved ones.
