Cattle Trail Tournament semifinals, finals on tap

One day down, two to go.

The annual Cattle Trail Invitational high school basketball tournament opened Tuesday, Dec. 10, with eight games at two sites in McCook. The tournament resumes Friday, Dec. 13, with girls and boys consolation and championship semifinal contests.

Tournament action kicks off Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the McCook Senior High and Junior High gyms. The two consolation semifinal games in both girls and boys divisions will be played at the Junior High gym, while the girls and boys championship bracket semifinals are set for the Senior High gym (see tournament schedule below).

Eight more games are on tap Saturday, Dec. 14, to determine final standings in both divisions. The tournament will conclude Saturday evening with championship finals in both girls and boys divisions.

The tournament features eight Gazette area girls and boys squads, including Arapahoe, Dundy County-Stratton, Hayes Center, Hitchcock County, Maywood, Medicine Valley, Southwest and Decatur Community of Oberlin, Kan.
