George Trever Ike

LINCOLN, Nebraska -- George Trever Ike, 47, passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, in Lincoln, where he lived.

He was born in McCook, Nebraska, Dec. 31, 1965, to George V. Ike, Jr. and Margaret (Yonker) Ike.

Survivors include a son and daughter; parents George, Jr. and Margaret Ike of Lincoln; sister Marnie and husband, Danny Milner of Arkansas; aunts, Doris Yonker of Kansas City, Missouri, Pat Berry, of Oberlin Kansas, and Lynda and Mel Cox of Bennet, Nebraska; uncle, Phil and Norma Yonker of Denver, Colorado; two nieces, one nephew and many cousins.

Trever was a fisherman. He loved to fish and when the weather kept him indoors, he would go through his tackle box and get ready for the next fishing trip. He loved the outdoors. Trever walked most places and had many friends who would give him a ride when he wanted one. His sister, Marnie, was very important to him. Growing up, Trever spent time in Stratton and McCook, Oberlin and Goodland, Kansas. After graduating from Goodland High School, he lived and worked in Denver, Colorado and moved to Lincoln after the death of his Grandpa Ike in 1990.

Trever was known as a hard worker. He worked for Work-A-While in Lincoln for many years. He made friends easily. If you met him you would like him.

He was tragically taken from his friends and family on Saturday, Nov. 16 and will be greatly missed.

Cremation. There will be no services.
