Accidents

OCT. 28, 2013:

11:20 a.m., West B Street -- a pickup driven by Andrew P. Uerling, 25, 1527 Norris Avenue, and an SUV driven by Marjorie Carter, 85, 402 Apollo, collided at the intersection of West B Street and West Fourth Street causing an estimated $3,700 in combined vehicle damage. No injuries were reported.

8:19 p.m., East B Street -- a vehicle travelling eastbound out of McCook, driven by Michelle D. Williams, 35, Elwood, Nebraska, collided with a deer in the roadway causing an estimated $1,000 in vehicle damage. The deer fled the scene without reporting the accident.

1:00 p.m., a pickup driven by Patrick L. Steadman, 48, 1604 W. Fourth Street No. 56, struck a metal pylon and brick column at McCook National Bank causing an estimated $550 in property damage.

9:48 p.m., McCook Municipal Center -- a City of McCook ambulance, driven by Richard D. Metcalf, 47, 807 East H Street, struck a closing garage door. Metcalf was following a second ambulance which had already exited the garage and reported he was unaware the garage door had begun to close. The garage door caught the top of the ambulance and damaged the lower three panels of the door, causing an estimated $1,700 in property damage.

OCT. 30, 2013:

12:53 a.m., 300 block of East C Street -- a vehicle owned by Thomas O. Manker, 63, Indianola, Nebraska, reportedly jumped out of gear and rolled down the street, hopping a curb before stricking a tree, on the north side of East C Street. The incident caused an estimated $1,000 in vehicle damage.

OCT. 31, 2013:

5:26 p.m., 400 block of East H Street -- a vehicle driven by Stacey A. Burkert, 51, 1609 E. First Street, while attempting to turn left, the driver reportedly decided to abort the turn and attempted to re-enter westbound traffic on East H Street, striking a vehicle driven by Brian L. Perks, 32, Cambridge, Nebraska, causing an estimated $1,300 in combined vehicle damage. Perks was subsequently cited for driving with an expired operator's license and failure to carry an operator's license on a person.
