Tootsie Roll time

The Nebraska Knights of Columbus started the Tootsie Roll program in 1976 to benefit children and adults with intellectual disabilities and it's still going strong today. Half of the proceeds from the Tootsie Roll drive this weekend will come back to McCook, said Tony Spilinek, coordinator of the event. Rain or shine, wind or snow, volunteers will be out selling Tootsie Rolls at Schmick's and Walmart Saturday and Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Shown front center is Patrick Lubber, a Knight in the McCook Knights of Columbus. Back row from left is Shirley Alberts, Southwest Area Training Services administrator, Tony Spilinek, Tootsie Roll Drive coordinator and Larry Eisenmenger, Grand Knight.
