Sen. Bill Avery

McCOOK, Nebraska -- A Nebraska legislator from Lincoln, Sen. Bill Avery, will be the speaker at the Norris Foundation Prayer Breakfast.

The traditional Heritage Days event will take place Friday morning, Sept. 27, at the Heritage Senior Center in McCook beginning at 7 a.m. Tickets -- costing $10 each -- are available at the Norris Home, the Chamber of Commerce office or by contacting Leon Kuhlen of the Norris Foundation.

Sen. Avery was elected to the Nebraska Legislature following a career as a Professor of Political Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. It was through his work in the political science field that he became inspired by the accomplishments of Sen. Norris, the famed U.S. Senator and Congressmen who spent the final half of his life as a resident of McCook.

Jeff Hancock, McCook City Manager, will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the Prayer Breakfast. The Rev. Kyle Dellefoet, will give the invocation. Rev. Dellefoet is the new Minister of Discipleship at McCook Christian Church.

Entertainment will be provided by Rebecca Sehnert, a violinist, and Rachel Gordine, a singer. The girls, both students at McCook High School, will be accompanied by Jean Sehnert.
